Earlier this school year, Mrs. Doering, 4th grade teacher, was selected out of 31 Lutheran schools to receive the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award. Principal Klug nominated Mrs. Doering and the Lutheran Elementary School Association (LESA) selected the winner out of the 31 member schools.
On Wednesday, May 2, Mrs. Doering learned she was selected to receive a $2500 grant from Emerson. This grant will go towards her request for a new escape room edu. Mr. Dave Rabe, the Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility presented the award.
The school will also receive a $2500 grant to use to further a creative educational program.
This is the second part of the Emerson teacher of the year program. Only the teachers that were awarded were able to write a grant proposal. Only a handful those were selected.
Thanks be to God for this blessing and for Mrs. Doering's service at Abiding Savior!
